Itinerary

Arrive at Paro International Airport, where you will be welcomed by your guide. Enjoy a scenic drive to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan.

  • Visit the Memorial Chorten, a beautiful temple dedicated to Bhutan’s third king.
  • Explore Changangkha Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in the valley.
  • Visit the Tashichho Dzong, the fortress that houses the throne of the king.

Overnight: Thimphu
Altitude: 2,300m

Drive to Punakha, crossing over Dochula Pass (3,100m), which offers panoramic views of the eastern Himalayas.

  • Stop to admire the 108 stupas at Dochula.
  • Upon reaching Punakha, visit the stunning Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most impressive fortresses, located at the confluence of the Pho and Mo rivers.
  • In the afternoon, visit the Chimi Lhakhang, a temple dedicated to the divine madman, known for its association with fertility.

Altitude: 1,350m

  • Start your day with a visit to the Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, a beautiful temple offering great views of the valley.
  • Enjoy a short hike through the surrounding paddy fields and village trails.
  • Afternoon at leisure – you may relax in the hotel or visit a local farmhouse to learn about Bhutanese rural life.

Overnight: Punakha
Altitude: 1,350m

Drive to the picturesque Phobjikha Valley, a conservation area known for its pristine environment and the Black-Necked Cranes (seasonal).

  • Explore the Gangtey Monastery, one of the most important monasteries in Bhutan.
  • Learn about the Black-Necked Crane project and visit the Black-Necked Crane Centre.

Overnight: Phobjikha
Altitude: 3,000m

  • Enjoy a scenic nature walk through the Phobjikha Valley, famous for its beautiful landscapes and traditional Bhutanese villages.
  • Visit a local farm and experience the way of life in the valley.
  • Afternoon visit to the Gangtey Goemba, a spiritual center of great historical significance.

Overnight: Phobjikha

After breakfast, drive to Paro through lush green valleys and scenic countryside.

  • Upon arrival, visit the Paro Dzong, an impressive fortress perched above the town.
  • Walk across the old wooden bridge that leads to the dzong and explore the local handicraft shops in Paro town.

Overnight: Paro
Altitude: 2,200m

  • Begin the day with a visit to the Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan.
  • Hike up to the Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), Bhutan’s iconic monastery perched high on a cliff. This 3-hour trek offers magnificent views of Paro Valley.
  • After your hike, relax and visit the local markets for souvenirs.

After breakfast, your guide will transfer you to Paro International Airport for your departure flight.
