The Thimphu Festival is one of Bhutan’s most vibrant and culturally significant events. This 9-day tour takes you deep into Bhutan’s heart, where you’ll experience the rich traditions, rituals, and colorful celebrations of one of the kingdom’s most important festivals. Celebrated in Thimphu, the capital city, this festival features traditional masked dances, religious rituals, and an opportunity to experience the unique culture and lifestyle of Bhutanese people. The tour also includes visits to iconic monasteries, temples, and scenic landmarks, ensuring a well-rounded and unforgettable experience.
On arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be greeted by our representative and driven to Thimphu by private car/bus. Check into your hotel and rest. In the afternoon, we proceed to visit the Memorial Chorten, a stupa built in memory of the late 3rd King of Bhutan. Then, we will visit the Buddha viewpoint, offering a panoramic view of the entire Thimphu city.

After breakfast, head to the Thimphu Tsechu Festival, a vibrant celebration featuring masked dances and sacred rituals performed by local monks. The festival is a magnificent cultural experience, offering insight into Bhutan’s religious practices and traditions. After the festival, enjoy a stroll around the town and take in the lively atmosphere.

Continue to enjoy the Thimphu Tsechu Festival with more traditional dances, including the famous Cham dances. Afterward, explore Changangkha Lhakhang, the oldest temple in Thimphu, followed by a visit to the Buddha Dordenma Statue, the largest Buddha statue in Bhutan. Enjoy the evening at leisure or take a short walk around the town.

Drive to Punakha via the scenic Dochula Pass (3,200m). If the weather permits, enjoy stunning views of Bhutan’s highest peaks. Visit the Punakha Dzong, located at the confluence of the Pho and Mo rivers, and explore its rich architecture and history. In the evening, relax and enjoy the tranquility of the valley.

After breakfast, visit Chimi Lhakhang, the Temple of Fertility, and take a pleasant walk through the paddy fields. Later, explore the Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten and its serene surroundings. Alternatively, enjoy a boat ride on the river or a scenic hike.

Altitude: 1,350m
After breakfast, drive back to Paro. On the way, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples, before reaching Paro in the late afternoon. Explore Paro town and shop for handicrafts or souvenirs.

Today, take a scenic drive to Haa Valley, known for its peaceful atmosphere and scenic beauty. Visit Lhakhang Karpo and Lhakhang Nagpo, two ancient temples in the valley. Explore the charming villages and return to Paro in the afternoon.

In the morning, embark on a challenging hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), perched high on a cliffside above the Paro Valley. Afterward, visit Paro Dzong, the administrative center of the district. Spend the rest of the day shopping or relaxing in Paro town.
